This year, you can swap and shop clothes by the kilo!
If you're swapping, your tokens act as currency, and you can top up by the kilo. If you're shopping, it's just £10 per kilo and all proceeds are being donated to the ELHAP charity. You must register to the event to take part.
how the swap works
step 1 - check in
Bring up to five pieces of clothing to the swap and take them to the check in desk.
Please note, at the weekend, we also have a kids swap and up to 10 items will be accepted for kids.
step 2 - receive your tokens
The team will value your items according to the token system and load them in to an online account for you.
Step 3 - go shopping
Your tokens act as your currency to shop in the pop up - so shop away! If you need more tokens, you can top up your shop through purchasing - every kilo of clothing is £10.
The SWAP token system

Brand examples: Primark, Boohoo, Shein, Wallis, F&F, TU, George.
Item Type: Anything from these brands or items not deemed in good enough condition. Shoes, skinny jeans, gym wear. These items will be donated to charity partners.

Brand Examples: Topshop, H&M, ASOS, New Look, Weekday, Zara, M&S, Mango, Next, Unlabelled.
Item Type: Basics or unstructured items, e.g. t-shirts.

Brand Examples: Arket, Cos, Whistles, & Other Stories, Boden, Karen Millen, Omnes, Levi, Nobody’s Child, Colourful Standard, Paloma Wool, Never Fully Dressed, House of Sunny.
Item Type: Embellished items, coats or heavier items from brands in token 1 bracket.

Brand Examples: Max Mara, Acne, Carhartt, The North Face, Glassworks, LF Markey, Anthropologie, Jaeger, Toast.
Item Type: Higher end brands and items. Original RRP of £50-10.

Brand Example: Reformation, Oliver Sweeney, Sezane, Free People
Item Type: Best quality items. Must have minimum original RRP over £100.

These are for designer or premium items which normally retail for over £250. Gold tokens are only redeemable with Gold (so you have to bring a gold piece, to get a gold piece). Any designer item, e.g. Ganni, GOLD Rixo, D&G, Armani. This is availble for swapping only, not KILO.

Over the weekend, a kids swap is being added to the store. This is a 1-3 token system (1 is for supermarket / basics and 3 is for brands like JoJo Maman Bébé).

HOW TO FIND US
The unit store is opposite Notes Coffee, underneath the atrium. Follow the on-site wayfinding, or ask one of our onsite team for directions.
HOW DOES SWAPPING WITH VERTE WORK?
Bring up to 5 premium clothing items, with a focus on vintage, Y2K, and denim. Check-in to have your items valued, and receive tokens to shop. Tokens act as currency, or if your shopping, your final selection is weighed. If you don’t use all your tokens, you can save them for future events by creating an account with Verte.
Is this a free event?
Yes, the event is free! Everyone is welcome to just turn up to shop and swap but some of the workshops you need to register for. You can also sign up to the mailing list for exclusive updates and announcements.
Can I just come to shop?
If you don’t bring items to swap with you, you can still shop by purchasing items directly at £10 per kilo.
All proceeds from these sales will go to support Brookfield Cares Charity Partners.
EVENTS & ALTERATIONS
Events and alterations are back for a small £5 charity donation, covering up to two items. Full guidelines can be found on the alterations page. Check our event calendar to choose which sessions you'd like to attend—some may require a £5 charity donation for entry.
where do my £5 donations go?
All money raised will be donated to Brookfield Properties charity partner Every Life Has a Purpose. ELHAP is a magical adventure playground in Essex for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.
We are only accepting card payments through GoodBox systems in Store, all donations are directly sent to the charity via this system.
